The traditions of Afghans about kites

Every New year during the new days of springs, Afghan boys go out the deserts and fly the kites up. All the players of kites want to slice the other kites and they merge their kites for slicing each kites of them.

The kites are flown by the strangest strings. Every one wants to have the strangest string for slicing the other kites, therefore, before playing, they make the strings with glasses very sharp. The first step for making the string with glasses sharp is to dash the glasses into pieces and then merge with some special liquid for making the glasses gel. The second step is putting the string among that liquid which is merged with glasses. And the last step is twisting the string in a safe place for being dried.
After these steps, the string is ready for competition.

This afghan tradition has a very old history estimately about 500 years which the boys have been following this. The specifications of the kites are very strange. The kites have two sticks one of them is in the middle of kite staying verticale and the other is about in the corners staying round. The kites have special makers, for flying up better. Some people sale the kites for players and get the advantage of them.

That is a very strange and very beautiful tradition which the boys play it off.

Now we also made a kite by ourselfes with the youth in the Tobias Projekt and the people like it a lot! When we bring some kites the people let it fly for hours.
